Key Highlights

  1. 3km of Mineralised Strike:

The Claudia vein within the Droughtmaster Corridor has been confirmed as mineralised over a 3km strike length. This discovery includes an additional 1.5km of strike extension, solidifying Claudia as one of the largest veins in the district.

2. Record-Breaking Grades:

Rock chip sampling across the corridor has returned grades of:

  • 135,800g/t AgEq (7,839g/t Ag & 1,542g/t Au) at Cascada.
  • 14,514g/t AgEq (7,547g/t Ag & 83.9g/t Au).
  • 10,640g/t AgEq (4,120g/t Ag & 78.6g/t Au).

These results represent the highest grades ever encountered in the history of Cerro Bayo exploration.

3. Potential for Future Resource Growth:

Multiple vein systems within the Droughtmaster Corridor, Pegaso 7, and Cristal are currently outside the existing resource. These will be incorporated into the upcoming Q1 2025 resource update, expected to significantly expand the project’s scale.

Andean Silver Limited (ASX: ASL) has once again reinforced the exceptional potential of its Cerro Bayo Project, announcing a 3km strike of high-grade mineralisation along the Droughtmaster Corridor. The project has also yielded the highest-grade rock chip result in Cerro Bayo’s 40-year exploration history, marking a significant milestone for the company’s ongoing exploration and resource development initiatives.

The Cascada Mine: Unlocking New Opportunities

At the historic Cascada underground mine, new exploration efforts are uncovering previously overlooked opportunities. Highlights include:

  • Significant Grades: Rock chip results from surface veins near Cascada returned an unprecedented 135,800g/t AgEq.
  • Undrilled Potential: Mapping indicates considerable strike and down-plunge extensions of the mineralised system, which remain untested since mining ceased in 2008.

Cascada’s location along the regional fault system, coupled with proximal intrusive domes, mirrors the structural conditions responsible for Cerro Bayo’s historically high-grade zones.

Expanding the Droughtmaster Corridor

Detailed fieldwork continues to define new extensions along the Droughtmaster Corridor. Key developments include:

  • East-West Vein Trends: Mapping revealed new east-west vein systems with strike lengths of up to 500m, extending by 300m from initial observations.
  • High-Grade Veins: Vein rock chip sampling highlights consistent epithermal characteristics with high silver and gold grades.

The geophysical survey, slated for completion in early Q2 2025, will further refine exploration targets and enhance drill planning.

Aggressive Exploration Plans for 2025

Andean Silver (ASX: ASL) 12-month exploration strategy focuses on resource growth and district-wide project generation, including:

  • Drilling Brownfield Targets: Expanding existing resources at Laguna Verde and Cerro Bayo project areas.
  • Geophysical Campaigns: Large-scale surveys at Pampa, Droughtmaster, and Sinter Hill to generate drill-ready targets.
  • Greenfield Exploration: Regional campaigns at Cerro Diablo and Los Domos to build a multi-year exploration pipeline.
  • Multi-Rig Deployment: Three drill rigs are currently operational, supporting both resource expansion and greenfield discoveries.

A Historic Opportunity in the Cerro Bayo District

With rock chip results surpassing 135,800g/t AgEq and significant expansions of vein systems, Andean Silver (ASX: ASL) is positioned for transformative growth in 2025. CEO Tim Laneyrie expressed optimism about the project's potential, noting, “The pipeline of drilling targets that continues to emerge at Droughtmaster positions us for a multi-year exploration campaign, setting a strong foundation for long-term resource growth.”

The Q1 2025 resource update will be a key milestone in validating the Cerro Bayo district as a globally significant silver and gold region. Stay tuned for updates as Andean Silver (ASX: ASL) accelerates its aggressive exploration and resource development strategy across the Cerro Bayo Project.
