Key Highlights

  • Drill intercepts up to 1,933 g/t silver equivalent (Ag Eq.) from Orient West's JORC infill program.
  • High-grade shallow mineralization boosts open-pit potential.
  • 230m continuous high-grade zone defined, with mineralization open at depth.
  • Orient East Exploration Target and additional drilling scheduled for 2025.

Impressive Initial Results from Orient West Drilling Program

Iltani Resources Limited (ASX: ILT) has announced outstanding results from the initial seven reverse circulation (RC) drill holes of its 42-hole JORC-compliant infill drilling program at the Orient Silver-Indium Project in Herberton, North Queensland. The results reveal high-grade silver-lead-zinc-indium mineralization across multiple drill holes, solidifying the project's potential as a significant resource.

High-Grade Intercepts Highlight Project Potential

The early results include some exceptional intercepts, particularly from drill hole ORR068, which returned 9m @ 391.9 g/t Ag Eq. from 90m, including 1m @ 1,933.4 g/t Ag Eq. This represents one of the highest grades recorded at the site. Other notable intercepts include:

  • ORR066: 3m @ 403.6 g/t Ag Eq. from 28m, including 1m @ 1,118.7 g/t Ag Eq.
  • ORR065: 4m @ 261.2 g/t Ag Eq. from 38m, including 2m @ 464.1 g/t Ag Eq.
  • ORR067: 5m @ 369.3 g/t Ag Eq. from 185m, including 2m @ 825.4 g/t Ag Eq.

Shallow high-grade mineralization, such as the 7m @ 203.6 g/t Ag Eq. from 54m in ORR062, underscores the potential for developing an open-pit resource, while deeper intercepts suggest significant underground mining opportunities.

Orient West’s Resource Expansion and Continuity

The initial results confirm continuous high-grade mineralization over a down-dip extent of 230m to a vertical depth of 180m, remaining open at depth. The drilling program focuses on the High-Grade Core Area, spanning approximately 900m by 350m, targeting vein systems intersected by lower-grade stockwork zones.

Managing Director Donald Garner commented, "These results highlight Orient West's potential for both open-pit and underground mining. Coupled with promising results from Orient East, the size and scale of the Orient System could position it as Australia’s premier silver-lead-zinc-indium resource."

Next Steps for Orient West and East

Drilling at Orient West will resume in March 2025 after the wet season, while the Orient East Exploration Target is set to be delivered in February. With a total of 42 drill holes planned for Orient West, Iltani Resources (ASX: ILT) aims to achieve a JORC-compliant inferred resource.

The Orient System, encompassing both Orient West and Orient East, demonstrates the potential for a large-scale silver-lead-zinc-indium deposit, with mineralization observed over 2km of strike. Its proximity to infrastructure and high-grade results make it a key development target for Iltani Resources (ASX: ILT).
