Key Highlights:

  • Krakatoa confirms large-scale mineralization potential at Zopkhito Antimony-Gold Project in Georgia.
  • 27km of Soviet-era adits revealed 60+ mineralized veins—only 16 have been explored to date.
  • WA Government backs Krakatoa with $220K grant for Mt Clere gravity drilling program.
  • Cash balance at $1.29M, with sufficient funding for mid-2025 exploration plans.

Krakatoa Resources Ltd (ASX: KTA) has emerged as a speculative bright spot in the junior exploration space, advancing its dual focus on strategic metals across international frontiers. The company’s March 2025 quarterly activities report outlines progress across its flagship Zopkhito Antimony-Gold Project in Georgia and the upcoming drill program at Mt Clere in Western Australia.

At Zopkhito, Krakatoa continues to consolidate what could become one of the most significant undeveloped antimony-gold systems globally. Situated in Georgia’s Racha region, the project benefits from a granted mining licence valid through 2042 and is supported by solid legacy data from Soviet and post-Soviet exploration campaigns. Recent reinterpretation of historic geophysics by Montana GIS has identified a strong chargeable anomaly and potential continuation of the mineral system well beyond previously explored limits.

The foreign resource estimate—225Kt at 11.6% Sb (26,000t of contained antimony) and 7.1Mt at 3.7g/t Au (815,119oz of gold)—suggests substantial upside. Yet, only 16 out of more than 60 identified mineralised veins have been explored in detail, highlighting the project’s scale and untapped potential. Krakatoa plans to progress toward a JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate and preliminary economic assessment while preparing for drill targeting once permitting is secured.

Domestically, Krakatoa’s Mt Clere Project also gained momentum after the company secured up to $220,000 in Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) funding from the Western Australian Government. The planned drill program aims to test two compelling gravity anomalies identified in 2024—one coinciding with a buried magnetic high and the other along a magnetic low interpreted as a structural lineament. Drilling is expected to commence mid-year.

On the corporate front, the company ended the quarter with $1.29 million in cash, providing a solid runway for near-term exploration activities.

As the critical minerals narrative continues to gain pace globally, Krakatoa Resources finds itself with both a rare earths footprint in Western Australia and a potentially world-class antimony-gold play in Europe. With strategic funding support and technical groundwork in place, the coming months may define Krakatoa’s evolution from explorer to emerging resource developer.

At the time of publication, KTA shares were trading at A $0.009
