Orbminco Lights Up Bronze Fox: High-Grade Copper-Gold Finds Reinforce Mongolia’s Critical Minerals Potential

Copper-Gold Discovery at Bronze Fox Signals Exploration Breakthrough for Orbminco

Orbminco Ltd (ASX: OB1) has kicked off 2025 with a promising start, unveiling high-grade copper and gold results from its initial field campaign at the Bronze Fox Project in Mongolia’s Southern Gobi Copper-Gold Belt. The announcement confirms both historical data and the project’s geological pedigree, positioning Orbminco as a serious player in the critical metals exploration space.

Rock chip sampling at the West Kasulu prospect has returned standout assays, including grades of up to 11 g/t gold and 2.3% copper. The samples confirm a northwest-trending mineralised structure beneath shallow cover—largely undrilled and offering strong potential for follow-up exploration. Additional samples showed consistently high copper grades (multiple >1% Cu results) along with significant gold, strengthening the case for a large-scale porphyry system.

Complementing this, the nearby Shuteen North prospect, just 10km southwest, revealed strong surface copper mineralisation and multi-phase intrusive systems, typical of the upper levels of porphyry deposits. While grades here were generally lower, the geological signatures are highly encouraging—especially given the complete lack of historic drilling in the area.

Survey-Driven Strategy Ahead of June Drilling

Orbminco is wasting no time. Geophysical programs—including Induced Polarisation (IP) and gravity surveys—are scheduled for May to refine drill targets, with contracts already in place for drilling to begin in June. These surveys will cover both West Kasulu and Shuteen North, setting the stage for a significant exploration phase in mid-2025.

The Bronze Fox Project, comprising two licenses covering 175 km², has seen intermittent but credible exploration dating back to the 1970s. Historical operators include Ivanhoe Mines and Kincora Copper, with data showing robust mineralised systems. Orbminco has secured the rights to earn up to 100% of the project, starting with an 80% interest through a US$4 million earn-in.

Managing Director Ralf Kriege noted the alignment between current and historical data, stating that the initial program “validates the potential for high-grade copper-gold systems at Bronze Fox,” and positions the company well for its next exploration push.
